I’d like to see an attempt made to remove names from Twitter, to push the content and amplification of content to the front, to do away with channels and circles of power and control. The web is that already but it is unfeasible for all but Google to monitor it in real-time and deliver “what is happening and what is important.” So Twitter without channels. Twitter without names. You post your 140 characters and it goes into the froth. People see items in the froth and amplify the ones they like. The strongest rise and a view is slice through the peaks to present what is happening now and what is important.
I’d argue that privacy is abused by the powerful, not invasion of your privacy but the use of privacy to hide their actions. Politicians with your tax money for instance. I’d also argue that privacy is not a fundamental human need but rather a cultural norm placed on us by religion and society. Nude photos of you from the weekend party on Facebook? What of it? You are still you, keeping them private changes nothing. Can transparency bring more liberty than privacy?

The Mac Developer program just became affordable; $99 a year. Should encourage more iPhone developers to create associated Mac OS apps.
