“which hurtles through galaxies at 20,000 miles per hour” sounds fast, doesn’t it? It isn’t. Pioneer 10 does 39,000mph and has only recently reached the edge of our solar system, it launched 32 years ago. It will take 2 million years to get to Aldebaran, 62 light years away. The Milky Way galaxy is 100,000 light years across. Space is big. 20,000mph is a salted snail at the Indy 500. This would make a great issue for Bad Astronomy to tackle. §
