Good post by Rob Burke on various UX design tools offered by Microsoft. Inspiring stuff even if you don’t use Windows anymore.

TOG, a hackerspace in Dublin. I’d join if I lived in Dublin. Maybe I should live in Dublin so that I can join (via @sdempsey).

The new model of college will separate “the class” from “the college.” There is something to this disintermediation of the college but I do worry about losing all the soft-learning that goes on that cannot be conveyed over the internet in asynchronous methods. School has always been about more than just the curriculum. Relationship building, team building, bonding, tangential studies and serendipity (bumping into an interesting professor on the college green you would never have met through your chosen course.)

Etherpad now has a replay feature. You can even see a replay of a Paul Graham essay. A handy feature is that you can link to specific versions e.g. version 4437. What I like is that Etherpad remains simple and focused but has a lot of power behind it.

Jajah has a neat Twitter feature that lets you message @call and a friend and a voice call will be setup between you. Good idea though as of now the @call account has been suspended on Twitter.

Agreed. We don’t even consider CVs that are not from top residential universities for this reason. Learning how to work with a dysfunctional team mate is a crucial university lesson.
