Dopplr is one of my favourite “web 2.0″ ideas even though I hardly use it. Since I became a dad I just don’t travel all that much. Up till now you had to do a lot of future-travelling to get any benefit out of Dopplr and for others to get benefit out of your Dopplr usage. Not anymore. Now you can go back in time and say where you have been, where you have stayed and what you thought of each. Dopplr needs to be careful it doesn’t become a flippant social-network though. §

Got terabytes you want to put into Amazon S3? Now you can ship them your hard-drive or SAN and Amazon will load the data directly into S3. I’ve got a few hundred gig of photos I want to try this out on. U.S.A. only for now, Europe soon. §

A web-wide stylesheet for IE6 that makes the content of the site readable. Interesting idea and it should work well for text-content heavy sites. §

JetPack from Mozilla is similar GreaseMonkey in that it lets sites offer small scripts that the user can install into their browser. The scripts are not full blown extensions but can offer some very useful functionality. Why Mozilla didn’t work with the GreaseMonkey chaps I don’t know but so far JetPack is easier and slicker than GreaseMonkey (which I’ve always found to be a bit of a PITA to use.) I imagine the long term goal is to build JetPack into Firefox, no extension required. §

Pencasting is interesting. Doodle something freehand and upload it to a microblog. Currently it is linked to Livescribe’s Pulse Smartpen which is a barrier to adoption. So how about a microblogging service using a Flash or Canvas area that lets you doodle with your mouse. Instead of 140 characters you get a 140×140 area you can draw in. §

I’m using it also. They seem to delegate things to other Web 2.0 things, like Facebook or OpenID but associations and sharing policies are not delegated very well in anything that I’ve seen yet…

Actually, I take it back – isn’t that the whole idea behind OAuth?

Should be yes but I’ve not seen oAuth used at such a fine-grain yet.
