I had no idea Tiger Woods was sponsored by GM. I thought he was owned by Nike. That is all I ever see on him; swooshes.

24 Redemption was so-so. Too much touchy feely stuff and not enough Jack Bauer shooting/torturing/beating on bad guys.

I don’t see how auto-tagging is useful for a bookmarking service i.e. Faviki. Tags for bookmarks are personal to the bookmarker. If you automate it then the bookmarker likely won’t remember what tags to use to get back that bookmark. Automatic tagging is useful for reference sites, directories etc. but not bookmarking sites.

If Engadget doesn’t want to be RED’s marketing pawn then how about they just wait till the actual announcement on December 3? I don’t care about pre-announcement announcements.

Hi Paul,
Please let me clarify things a bit. It is not about auto-tagging, but rather about auto-suggesting. Users decide what tags are good for them. The idea behind Faviki is to offer a solution for consistent tagging by using Wikipedia as a centralized set of resources. This is the first step toward standardization of tags, as Wikipedia concepts are used as universal references for users tags.
Best regards,
Vuk Milicic, Faviki

Thanks for the explanation, Vuk. That does sound like a good idea. I’ll give Faviki a proper going over. But I am a bit worried I have to sign up for another bookmarking service (already been through them all and remain on delicious for its simplicity) just to get semantic tagging. A “plugin” for delicious might be even better.
