Yang, CEO of Yahoo!, is stepping down. I hope this doesn’t mean all of Yahoo!’s recent BOSS, SearchMonkey etc. work is dropped in a fight for shareholder value. They need the innovation in the long-term.

Google’s voice activated search app. for the iPhone is out. The interface and the way it knows when you have it up to your ear to talk is very good but the speech-recognition accuracy is poor for my accent. The app. does say it works best with North American accents. I hope they develop it further and allow for in-car activation by a voice-command (with results read back out to you.)

Amazon have launched their pay-as-you-go Content Delivery Network service; CloudFront.

“hurling”, “missile” and “violent conduct” make Drogaba sound as if he threw a nuclear tipped javelin into the crowd. It was a coin. A coin that someone from the crowd threw at him. Apparently the FA is worried the coin could have taken an eye out or wiped out a small Ethiopian village. They’ve obviously never played coinage, a violent game no doubt but hardly ever the fault of the coin. Stupid soccer. In Rugby we throw 500 pound scrummies at the crowd, and that’s on a good day!
