My first exposure to Yahoo!’s new profile/social-network system is a message from MaryM asking if I’d like to get laid in Waterford tonight. Thanks Mary but I don’t Yahoo! with anybody but my partner.

I assume Daring Fireball has tried GMail? What he outlines here is pretty much what GMail does with unread emails and starred emails. I glance over emails on my iPhone and star them if I need to do something to them later on my laptop. You do have to use the mobile-web version of GMail though and not the Mail.app on the iPhone.

I do know that’s how “starring” works in the Gmail web UI, but, alas (for me), I don’t like using the Gmail web UI. I really do want to use Mail on my Mac and iPhone.

Mirror’s Edge would make for a great movie. Brings to mind Blade Runner but instead of black we have white.

Google Analytics has updated their homepage. The most useful addition is the “% Change” indicator which you can easily switch between day/week/month/year. Showing the UA number though is a bit pointless.

I cannot read German well but Overnewsed But Uninformed is an interesting look at the modern culture of shallow but broad news. Certainly I have never know so little about so much.

Where any real people used in the creaton of ID Selector? Even I find it overkill. Giving users twelve choices instead of one does not make OpenID any easier to use. How about a bit of smarts. Detect what sites the user has been to and show just one, at most two, login options? And don’t show the URL with “username” in it. I tried to replace that instead of using the textbox.

Could Adobe make their installer and auto-updater any worse? If they introduced a living-dead, rotting ferret with mange into the process it couldn’t be worse.

Walt reviews the AutoNet in-car 3G to WiFi box. Looks pretty decent. I wonder if the iPhone and other 3G handsets with WiFi could be modified to do the same thing? Roaming WiFi spots.

Anyone else bothered by the “Have a Benylin day” advert on radio? Cough syrup addiction is a real problem, not something to be tittered at. Encouraging people to take the day off work and settle down on the couch with a bottle of Benylin is just plain odd if you ask me.
