Good “make a decision” post from Contrast. Microsoft really screwed us over with their “put it in the toolbar” design practice. It has made it hard for free thinkers to make decisions and design “less is more” into their apps. The days of “it must work for everyone” are waning, a more diverse and rich landscape is opening up.

What I like about this Mozilla exploration of an alternative to the right-click context-menu is that it is better for 90% of every-day tasks. Sadly there are those out there who think that because it doesn’t work for the 10% of edge-cases that it shouldn’t be done at all. Edge-cases cripple innovation, forget about them.

Giving EventBox a run. It aggregates your Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, feeds etc. and provides some of the specific service functionality e.g. tweeting from within EventBox.

The Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M will have an optional iPhone dock in the center of the dash. The screen will face out and provide full iPhone/iPod Touch functionality. You wouldn’t see Ferrari choosing a Microsoft Zune, iRiver or Dell MP3 player.
