Android has a really nasty bug. It sends whatever you type in any app. at any level to a shell. Type “reboot” in your SMS app. and your phone will reboot. Classic bug!

I am surprised this study finds iPhone’s twice as reliable as BlackBerries. BlackBerry has been in this business quite a bit longer, you’d think the upstart Apple would have quality issues in its first years. Even more surprising is that “call quality” issues were more apparent on the BlackBerry, a “business tool” to the iPhone’s “consumer toy.”

One use of the contentious “dynamic default.png” feature on some iPhone apps. is that you can start reading, and re-familiarising yourself, with the content of the app. before the UI becomes active. The notes app. takes a few seconds to fully load so it is useful that I can check my last notes almost instantly.
