Carved my first pumpkin today along with Fiona. Loads of fun and I hope the kids enjoy their sweets and scares this evening. Happy halloween all. Boo!

Sifter asks for your credit-card even though it is a 30-day trial. Old trick (people forget, people go on holiday, “cancellation pages” go down etc.) Also it asks for a Zip or Postal Code. Only the Dublin area has postal codes in Ireland, so I can’t sign-up.

Irish Net Visionary Awards, sorry to be a curmudgeon but could you update your website and could those reporting on the results use links. I just went through the Web2Ireland list copying and pasting words into Google in the vain hope of finding out who the winners are. I still can’t find Webtools Software, there are a billion results for that. My main point is that as it is named “net visionary” you’d think links would be used and websites updated on the fly. Bah humbug.

Google’s SearchWiki is an interesting development. You can vote up results (promote), remove them, comment on them and even suggest alternate URLs for your search. Some competition for and ideas from Wikia it seems.

I am recieving the google feature where i am located (mid west usa) but im not sure if all googlers are able to see the google searchwiki showing up on their screens yet. If not there is a video and some screen shots of the searchwiki at http://www.thesearchwiki.com do you guys think this will take off? do you think it will effect the google search results drastically from now on?

RJDJ is a funky iPhone app. that samples sounds via the microphone, runs it through some built-in loops and outputs it to your earphones as a song. Some great results and some weird ones too.

Tell Asus and Intel about your dream laptop and they may just build it. Consumer powered design is part of our future.

A 40″ 1080p OLED screen that is just 8.9mm thin. Crikey.

Thanks Conor. I’d be happy to help where I can (I’m not very connected with the Irish scene but I’ll do links it if helps.)
